WTO Launches Compliance Proceeding in EU's Case Against Colombia Antidumping Duties on Frozen Fries
The World Trade Organization's dispute settlement body on Nov. 25 agreed to establish a dispute settlement panel to review Colombia's compliance with an earlier ruling finding its antidumping duties on frozen fries from Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands violated WTO rules (see 2411140017).

The EU opened the compliance proceedings against Colombia in May after the bloc prevailed in front of both a dispute settlement panel and an arbitral tribunal assembled under the WTO's Multi-Party Interim Appeal Arbitration Agreement, which the parties used in lieu of a functioning Appellate Body (see 2405310019).
Colombia said its new AD measures are "fully compliant" with its WTO obligations, adding that it welcomes the fact that the EU "appears to agree that seven cases raised in the original proceedings are not being challenged in the compliance proceedings and that the remaining two cases identify technical aspects of the dumping margin calculations that were not part of the original procedure." The nation said it went to great lengths to explain its calculations and how they are in line with WTO standards.
